Our client, an innovative leader in the automotive and manufacturing industry, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Technician to join their dynamic team. As a Senior Mechanical Design Technician, you will be an integral part of the engineering support staff, collaborating closely with mechanical and electrical engineers to design and develop subsystems for OEM vehicles. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive attitude, which will enable you to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Job Title: Senior Mechanical Design Technician

Location: Logan, Utah (Onsite)

Pay Range: $48 - $50/hr on W2

What's the Job?

  • Work with mechanical and electrical engineers to design and fabricate subsystems attached to OEM vehicles.
  • Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using Solidworks for machining and fabrication processes.
  • Assist in assembly and installation of designed components on vehicle platforms.
  • Participate in shop fabrication, assembly, and maintenance of shop equipment.
  • Ensure product testing certification and readiness for quality assurance and testing departments.

What's Needed?

  • Associates degree in Mechanical Drafting or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design, metal and plastic working, or related engineering fields.
  • Proficiency in Solidworks 3D modeling, 2D parts drawings, and 3D routing.
  • Experience with CNC machines, including G Code generation from 2D drawings.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal design and electronics wire routing.
