Fiber/Network Data Center Technician

Our client is seeking a Fiber/Network Data Center Technician to join their team.

As a Fiber/Network Data Center Technician, you will be part of the Data Center Deployment & Operations support team.

The ideal candidate will have a safety-first mindset, strong hands-on cabling and validation skills, and the communication confidence to coordinate work in active construction and operational environments.

Job Title: Fiber/Network Data Center Technician (TX)

Location: Odessa, Texas (100% On-site)

Pay Range: $35 - $43 an hour, based on experience

What's the Job?

• Perform rack-and-stack installations of servers, GPU systems, Arista network switches, management switches, PDUs, and supporting data center infrastructure.
• Install and patch console connections, Cat6/Cat6A copper cabling, MPO/MTP fiber, LC-LC single-mode fiber, and power connections while following fiber backbone naming conventions and patching standards.
• Validate physical connectivity from compute platforms to Arista network switches during deployment and commissioning activities.
• Support onsite acceptance of carrier circuit deliveries and telecommunications handoffs, including end-to-end connectivity validation between compute, network, and carrier infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot fiber optic transceivers and physical layer connectivity issues (including strand swap, polarity, rolling pair, incorrect patching, and faulty transceivers) using tools such as Visual Fault Locators (VFLs), and diagnose copper/console/power/network connectivity problems.

What's Needed?

• Experience working in data center deployment, operations, or construction environments with hands-on rack-and-stack installation of servers and network equipment.
• Experience deploying and supporting Arista network switches and management switches.
• Strong fiber and cabling skills, including MPO/MTP and LC-LC single-mode fiber patching, Cat6/Cat6A cabling, and console cabling.
• Solid understanding of GPU server infrastructure, including NVIDIA B300 or similar high-density compute platforms, plus physical layer network validation.
• Ability to work safely in active construction and operational data center environments, including adherence to PPE requirements and lockout/tagout and construction safety procedures when applicable.
