Our client, a global investment management organization, is seeking a Data Analyst to support the Alternative Investments Solutions - Data Strategy team. This hands-on role combines data analytics, reporting, process optimization, and automation to drive data-driven decision-making.
The analyst will partner with stakeholders across Sales, Operations, and Management to maintain critical Alts reporting, build dashboards and data workflows, improve data quality, and transform investment data into actionable insights that help drive sales strategy and business growth. The ideal candidate is a proactive, growth-oriented problem solver who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and enjoys wearing multiple hats while helping build scalable solutions.

Location: Baltimore, MD or New York, NY
Pay Range: $38/hr - $42/hr
Contract: 12-Months
What's the Job?
- Build, maintain, and enhance recurring and ad-hoc reports supporting trade lifecycle, transaction status, sales performance, reconciliations, and business operations.
- Write SQL and Python scripts for data extraction, transformation, validation, and automation.
- Develop, support, and optimize ETL workflows, pipelines, and data integrations.
- Create dashboards and visualizations in Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools to deliver actionable business insights.
- Automate manual reporting, data preparation, validation, notification, and exception-management processes.
- Monitor data quality, troubleshoot production issues, and implement solutions that enhance reporting reliability and performance.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, support releases, and deliver reporting, analytics, and automation initiatives.
- Leverage AI-assisted development practices to increase efficiency, optimization, and solution quality.
What's Needed?
- Bachelor’s degree in analytics, computer science, information systems, engineering, finance, economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, reporting, data operations; experience within financial services, asset management, or alternative investments is a plus.
- Strong SQL and Python skills.
- Experience with ETL processes, data transformation, and cloud or relational databases.
- Proficiency in creating dashboards using Tableau, Power BI, or similar visualization tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with close attention to data quality.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to business stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ownership and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Git, APIs, or workflow orchestration tools.
- Familiarity with sales, CRM, transaction, advisor, or product data.
- Experience with reporting automation and AI-assisted development tools.
