Platform Modernization Engineer

Our client, a leader in enterprise infrastructure and digital transformation, is seeking a Platform Modernization Engineer to join their team. As a Platform Modernization Engineer, you will be part of the Infrastructure Support Department supporting modernization initiatives and automation projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate resilience, innovative thinking, and collaborative spirit, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Platform Modernization Engineer

Location: Plano, TX or Jersey City, NJ or Charlotte, NC or Chandler, AZ

Pay Range: $70.00 - $73.00/hr

What's the Job?

• Lead the design and development of automation frameworks for z/VM and Linux patching with the potential of using AI.
• Build and deploy agent-based workflows to orchestrate vulnerability remediation at scale.
• Integrate automation with mainframe systems, APIs, and security tooling to enhance security posture.
• Partner with infrastructure and security teams to prioritize and execute patching initiatives effectively.
• Ensure the reliability, scalability, and operational readiness of automation solutions supporting enterprise infrastructure.

What's Needed?

• Strong Python programming skills in enterprise environments.
• Experience in mainframe infrastructure engineering, including z/VM and Linux installation and testing.
• Exposure to developing AI/agent-based automation frameworks and agents.
• Experience developing and integrating with z/VM and Linux APIs.
• Experience operating in large-scale enterprise infrastructure environments.
