Network Support Engineer

Our client, a leader in the telecommunications and network services industry, is seeking a Network Support Engineer to join their team. As a Network Support Engineer, you will be part of the Network Operations Department supporting the technical team. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills, which will align successfully in the organization.

What's the Job?

• Analyze and troubleshoot complex network devices and protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, and OSPF.
• Perform network traffic discovery through packet capture analysis and drive issues to resolution.
• Manage and troubleshoot L3 private IP MPLS carrier networks via BGP peering and sophisticated WAN topologies.
• Configure and troubleshoot network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
• Utilize various networking tools like Splunk, HPNA, Netdisco, Pulse, and others to analyze logs, traffic, and resolve network issues.

What's Needed?

• Experience with network devices and protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, OSPF, SNMP, and multicast.
• Knowledge of networking topologies, TCP/IP, and carrier circuits.
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware issues in data centers, including replacing faulty ports, cables, modules, or devices.
• Experience working with network monitoring tools like EMC SMARTS.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
