Our client, a leader in innovative warehouse automation solutions, is seeking a Controls Systems Engineer III to join their dynamic team. As a Controls Systems Engineer III, you will be part of the engineering department supporting the robotics and automation projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams, aligning successfully with the organization’s mission to revolutionize warehouse logistics.

What's the Job?
- Develop and maintain low-level control software for complex mechatronic and robotic systems deployed on automation platforms.
- Design, implement, and optimize motion control, machine sequencing, and supervisory functions to ensure reliable system performance in fulfillment center environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to scale deployment, automate error recovery, and improve system robustness through code refactoring and process improvements.
- Create comprehensive documentation and training materials to facilitate support and maintenance by technicians and junior engineers.
- Participate in project cycles from design through deployment, leading efforts to architect new systems and delegate tasks effectively.
What's Needed?
- Proven experience in controls software development, with a focus on machine or process control systems.
- Hands-on experience with IEC61131 programming languages such as Structured Text (ST) and Ladder Diagram (LD); experience with multiple IEC61131 languages is a plus.
- Participation in at least two major project cycles as the primary development engineer, with involvement in design, development, and deployment phases.
- Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively, including writing detailed technical documentation.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, along with familiarity with subsystems like sensors, barcode readers, and drives.
