Our client, a leading organization in enterprise network solutions, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Senior Mainframe Network Engineer | TCP/IP, SNA/APPN, IBM NetView & OMEGAMON to join their dynamic team. As a Senior Mainframe Network Engineer | TCP/IP, SNA/APPN, IBM NetView & OMEGAMON, you will be an integral part of the Network Operations Department supporting critical mainframe systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a proactive approach to network management, which will align successfully within the organization.

Job Title: Senior Mainframe Network Engineer | TCP/IP, SNA/APPN, IBM NetView & OMEGAMON

Location:Plano, TX

Pay Range: $70-$73/hr 

What's the Job?

• Engineer and operate robust network solutions supporting mainframe TCP/IP and SNA/APPN-based system integrations.
• Optimize high-availability connectivity for business-critical, high-velocity transactions and batch-processing systems.
• Lead modernization initiatives of mainframe network architectures, including enhancements in observability and telemetry.
• Advance automation and AI-assisted operations to reduce manual effort, improve consistency, and enhance network reliability.
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues across routing, switching, firewalls, load balancers, and mainframe network stacks.

What's Needed?

• Extensive experience supporting enterprise-scale networks with high availability and reliability requirements.
• Strong foundational expertise in TCP/IP networking, including OSPF, EIGRP, and Layer 2 technologies such as VLANs and EtherChannel/Portchannel.
• Proficiency in packet trace analysis and multi-layer troubleshooting techniques.
• Experience supporting SNA/APPN networking environments.
• Working knowledge of switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, certificates, TLS/SSL, and REST APIs, along with automation tools like IBM Netview and IBM Omegamon.
