Job Title: Data Analyst

Location: Andover, Massachusetts (on-site)

Pay Range: $30-$35/hr
Term: 6+ Month Contract

Position Summary 

The Quality Data Analyst / Administrator supports the Quality organization by managing quality-related data, customer field issue records, corrective action tracking, return material activity, and reporting for manufacturing and field quality processes. This role helps ensure accurate, timely, and audit-ready information across systems such as AssurX, Excel, Power BI, SharePoint, and related business tools. 

Key Responsibilities 

  1. Customer Field Issue and AssurX Administration: Manage records for OBQ, failure analysis, DOA, field RMA, and related customer quality issues. Maintain accurate case status, ownership, due dates, supporting documentation, and escalation visibility. 

  1. Quality Data Reporting: Develop and maintain quality trend reports, dashboards, and summaries for Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality Engineering, Technical Support, Product Management, Logistics, and leadership using Excel, Power BI, and other reporting tools. 

  1. Returned Material and Failure Analysis Coordination: Track returned parts, field RMA activity, supplier FA requests, routing concerns, and return-to-vendor instructions. Coordinate with Logistics, Engineering, Factory teams, suppliers, and field service teams to maintain timely closure. 

  1. CAPA / 8D Coordination: Support corrective action processes by tracking 8D progress, action owners, due dates, containment, root cause investigation status, corrective action implementation, and effectiveness verification. 

  1. Procedure, Part, and Disposition Follow-Up: Follow up with responsible departments on procedure revisions, part disposition decisions, engineering updates, SOP changes, and release status tied to quality investigations. 

  1. Field Service and Stock Purge Support: Coordinate field service corrective action upgrades, stock purges, and material disposition activities with Logistics and responsible functional teams. 

  1. ISO 9001 and Audit Support: Support ISO 9001 quality system activities, maintain audit-ready records, and train toward qualification as an internal ISO 9001 auditor. 

  1. Product Change Notice Support: Support LBU Product Change Notice application processing, including data review, routing, follow-up, and status tracking. 

Required Qualifications 

  • Associate degree, technical degree, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required; bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, Data Analytics, Business, or a related field preferred. 

  • 2–5 years of organizational, administrative, data management, quality, manufacturing, RMA, MRB, or transaction-processing experience in a manufacturing or technical environment. 

  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills required, including data cleanup, filtering, pivot tables, formulas, and structured tracking files. 

  • MS Office Apps, PowerBI  required,  AI/Copilot a plus 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare concise updates, status summaries, and PowerPoint presentations. 

  • Ability to coordinate multiple open actions, follow up across functions, maintain accurate records, and escalate issues when needed. 

  • Experience with RMA, MRB, CAPA, 8D, supplier failure analysis, ISO 9001, or quality system documentation is a plus. 

Preferred Skills and Competencies 

  • High attention to detail and strong ownership of data accuracy. 

  • Ability to translate quality case activity into meaningful metrics, trends, and management summaries. 

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. 

  • Comfort working with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Quality, Supplier Quality, Product Management, Logistics, Field Service, Manufacturing, and suppliers. 

  • Continuous improvement mindset and willingness to standardize workflows, templates, and reporting methods. 

Success Measures 

  • Accurate and timely maintenance of customer quality issue records. 

  • Improved visibility to OBQ, DOA, FA, RMA, CAPA, and 8D status. 

  • Reduced overdue action items through consistent follow-up and escalation. 

  • Reliable trend reporting that supports management review and corrective action prioritization. 

  • Audit-ready documentation and improved consistency of quality system records. 

Internal Working Role Description 

This role is intended to provide day-to-day administrative, data, and coordination support for Quality activities tied to customer field issues, returned material, supplier failure analysis, corrective action, and quality system reporting. The position should function as the central organizer for quality case data and action tracking so Quality Engineering and management can focus on technical resolution, customer response, and systemic improvement. 

Primary Internal Duties 

  • Maintain AssurX records for OBQ, FA, DOA, field RMA, CAPA, and 8D activities. 

  • Monitor open records for missing information, aging items, overdue actions, and unclear ownership. 

  • Prepare recurring Excel and Power BI trend reports for field issue activity, returned parts, supplier FA status, RMA aging, and corrective action progress. 

  • Coordinate returned part routing with ONTO Logistics and help resolve documentation or shipment-routing gaps. 

  • Prepare and distribute supplier RTV / FA instruction packages when returned material requires supplier investigation. 

  • Track engineering, factory, supplier, and field service investigation status until closure. 

  • Follow up on procedure revisions, part disposition, field service upgrade actions, stock purges, and Product Change Notice routing. 

  • Support internal ISO 9001 audit readiness by maintaining structured records, evidence files, and action tracking
