Audio Systems Engineer

Our client, an industry leader in automotive technology, is seeking an Audio Systems Engineer to join their team. As an Audio Systems Engineer, you will be part of the Product Development department supporting cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Audio Systems Engineer
Location: Van Buren, MI

What's the Job?

• Serve as the technical owner of system requirements and product definition activities for automotive audio and infotainment products.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration across systems, hardware, software, validation, quality, suppliers, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful product development from concept through launch.
• Develop, analyze, and maintain product and system requirements using tools like DOORS and Jira, ensuring complete traceability.
• Support product development activities including architecture definition, design reviews, validation, and Start of Production (SOP).
• Collaborate with OEM customers and internal teams to clarify requirements, resolve technical issues, and manage requirement changes effectively.

What's Needed?

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in product or systems engineering, with 3–5+ years specifically in automotive audio or infotainment systems.
• Proven experience leading or coordinating cross-functional engineering teams including hardware, software, validation, and cybersecurity.
• Experience managing suppliers, sourcing, technical reviews, and issue resolution.
• Strong problem-solving skills, knowledge of vehicle networks, and experience with EMC configuration and automated testing tools.
