Systems Engineer

Our client is seeking a Systems Engineer to join their team. As a Systems Engineer, you will be part of the Department of Corrections supporting radio communication infrastructure and technology. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Systems Engineer
Location: Madison, WI - Hybrid
Duration: 12+ months with highly possible extension
Pay Range: $47 - $50 / hr. on W2

What's the Job?

• Support, configure, maintain, and install radio systems and related technologies across multiple sites.
• Assist in developing, recommending, and implementing standards for radio hardware, software, and network systems.
• Conduct fleet mapping, maintenance, and audits of Code Plug data for programmable radios.
• Maintain inventory of radio equipment and coordinate procurement to ensure compatibility and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to ensure radio systems meet industry standards and operational needs.

What's Needed?

• 1-2+ years of experience supporting, configuring, and maintaining radio communication systems.
• Experience with EF Johnson Radio Coordinator or similar radio management systems.
• Knowledge of developing and implementing standards for hardware, software, and network systems.
• Ability to conduct fleet mapping, maintenance, and audits of radio programming data.
• Strong organizational skills for maintaining inventory and coordinating equipment procurement.
