Sr. Product Security Engineer

Our client, a leader in industrial and energy infrastructure solutions, is seeking a Sr. Product Security Engineer to join their team. As a Sr. Product Security Engineer, you will be part of the Cybersecurity Department supporting product development and security governance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to security challenges, which will align successfully in the organization.

What's the Job?

• Define and own the security architecture for connected IIoT products, including device identity frameworks, secure boot chains, cryptographic key management, and hardware root of trust.
• Establish and enforce security design requirements based on applicable standards and frameworks such as IEC 62443, UL 2900, NERC CIP, and NIST SP 800-82.
• Design security boundaries and communication controls for OT/IT convergence environments, ensuring defense-in-depth across operational and enterprise layers.
• Lead threat modeling exercises for new product initiatives and significant feature changes, translating risks into actionable design controls.
• Coordinate responses to security vulnerabilities in fielded products, working with cross-functional teams and customers on disclosure and remediation.

What's Needed?

• Demonstrated expertise in securing embedded and IIoT devices, including secure boot, hardware security modules, trusted execution environments, and firmware security architecture.
• Working knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, and CAN bus, along with their security considerations.
• Strong understanding of OT and ICS security principles, network segmentation strategies, and the threat landscape of energy infrastructure.
• Solid understanding of PKI, certificate lifecycle management, and applied cryptography in constrained embedded environments.
• Deep familiarity with IEC 62443, UL 2900, NERC CIP, and NIST SP 800-82 standards, with the ability to translate standards into security controls.
