Our client, a leading organization in the automotive industry, is seeking a Fastener Application Engineer to join their team. As a Fastener Application Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering Department supporting product design, validation, and problem resolution.  
 

Job Title: Fastener Application Engineer

Location: Auburn Hills, Michigan (Onsite)

Pay Range: $25-$29 per hour 

What's the Job?

  • Provide onsite technical support for fastener joint design, validation, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Conduct joint reviews and recommend suitable fasteners, torque specifications, and design improvements.
  • Determine validation methods such as torque-to-failure, torque-to-yield, and ultrasonic testing.
  • Develop and evaluate tightening strategies including dynamic torque and torque-angle applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support vehicle development, launch activities, and resolve plant issues related to fasteners.

What's Needed?

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of three to five years of experience in fastener engineering or related technical roles.
  • Strong knowledge of fastener materials, coatings, joint design principles, and testing methods.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, material specifications, and technical standards.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
