Our client, a leading organization in the technology and enterprise solutions sector, is seeking an IBM Z Workload Scheduler to join their team. As an IBM Z Workload Scheduler, you will be part of the Operations Support team supporting large-scale mainframe migration projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, excellent collaboration abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, which will align successfully within the organization.

What's the Job?

  • Lead and support the migration of batch scheduling workloads to an enterprise workload scheduling platform.
  • Perform detailed analysis of legacy scheduling definitions (CA‑7, ESP, Jobtrac, Control‑M, etc.) and map them to IZWS structures.
  • Execute iterative migration cycles, including parallel tracking, schedule validation, and dependency resolution.
  • Monitor batch workload execution using TSO/ISPF and IZWS interfaces; analyze report data to identify issues and corrective actions.
  • Develop, maintain, and update migration documentation, procedures, and reference materials.

What's Needed?

  • 5+ years of mainframe experience (OS/390, z/OS) with an advanced understanding of core mainframe components and operational environments.
  • 5+ years of experience with enterprise workload automation and job scheduling platforms.
  • Proficiency in TSO/ISPF editing and dataset manipulation.
  • Expert-level understanding of JCL structure, syntax, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
