Financial Investment Risk Analyst

Our client, a leading organization in the financial services industry, is seeking a Risk Analytics Consultant 2 - Contingent to join their team. As a Risk Analytics Consultant 2 - Contingent, you will be part of the Risk Management Department supporting the Securities and Investment Analytics teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Location:Minneapolis, MN

Pay Range: $40 - $43 on W2

Key skills:

Bond/Securities/Investment Accounting Experience
Validate financial calculations and bond-related data​‌
Perform regression testing​‌
Heavy Excel analysis​‌
Support investment operations/risk analytics

What's the Job?

• Perform advanced Excel data analysis, including filtering, sorting, grouping, and creating pivot tables to support risk assessment activities.
• Utilize your finance and accounting expertise to analyze bond structures, interest calculations, and securities accounting methodologies.
• Conduct regression testing, with a preference for experience in SimCorp regression testing, to ensure system accuracy and compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to interpret data and provide insights that inform risk management strategies.
• Support ongoing process improvements and documentation to enhance analytical workflows and reporting accuracy.

What's Needed?

• Minimum of 1+ years of regression testing experience, preferably with SimCorp systems.
• At least 2+ years of advanced finance or accounting experience, with exposure to securities and investment accounting, especially bonds and interest calculations.
• Demonstrated proficiency in advanced Excel functions, including data import, parsing, pivot tables, and Text to Columns.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and provide actionable insights.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
