Our client, a leading organization in the technology and data management sector, is seeking a Data Center Technician - Logistics & Inventory Operations to join their team. As a Data Center Technician - Logistics & Inventory Operations, you will be part of the Data Center Operations supporting inventory management, data processing, and logistical coordination. The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a proactive attitude which will align successfully in the organization.
Data Center Technician - Logistics & Inventory Operations
Location: Northlake, IL
Duration: 18 month contract
Pay Range: $25-$28/hour on W2
Day & Night Shift available; 12 hour shifts; alternating 3/4 day work weeks
What's the Job?
- Coordinate and execute incoming and outgoing deliveries, including purchase order receiving and inventory movements.
- Perform physical inventory tracking, staging, inventory audits, and data corrections to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Support shipping, receiving, material movement, and warehouse operations following established processes and procedures.
- Conduct data-bearing device (DBD) destruction activities in accordance with documented procedures and compliance requirements.
- Monitor systems for equipment failures or performance issues and escalate concerns as needed.
- Respond to program error messages by identifying and resolving issues or escalating appropriately.
- Assist with testing and troubleshooting new programs and systems alongside technical teams.
- Utilize Microsoft Office and spreadsheet applications to track inventory, update records, and generate reports.
- Support regulatory, compliance, and certification audit activities within the data center environment.
What's Needed?
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ years of experience in warehouse operations, supply chain, inventory management, retail, or a related field.
- Previous experience working in a data center environment required.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Strong attention to detail with experience performing inventory audits, tracking, and material management activities.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience supporting shipping, receiving, logistics, or inventory processes within a technical environment preferred.
- Leadership experience overseeing or directing supplier resources is a plus.
- Flexibility to work non-standard business hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
