Vehicle Safety Performance Engineer

Our client is seeking a Vehicle Safety Performance Engineer to join their team. As a Vehicle Safety Performance Engineer, you will be part of the vehicle safety engineering organization, supporting vehicle programs from development through validation and program launch. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on testing experience, strong technical problem-solving, and clear communication skills that help drive safety performance improvements across cross-functional teams.

What's the Job?

• Develop, plan, and execute passive vehicle safety and crash test plans from development through validation.
• Support physical component and full-vehicle safety testing, including vehicle build, setup, test preparation, and execution.
• Ensure vehicle safety performance meets domestic and global crash regulatory requirements, including FMVSS and applicable third-party safety ratings.
• Analyze physical test results, identify safety/performance issues, and conduct root cause analysis to drive corrective actions.
• Collaborate with CAE engineers to correlate physical test results with virtual crash/safety simulations and coordinate across vehicle engineering disciplines when issues span multiple systems.

What's Needed?

• 3+ years of vehicle development experience.
• At least 1 year of passive safety development and/or physical safety testing experience.
• Hands-on knowledge of physical component or full-vehicle testing.
• Understanding of vehicle crashworthiness and passive safety principles, including knowledge of domestic and global vehicle safety regulations (particularly FMVSS).
• Ability to support vehicle integration and validation, with strong written and verbal communication skills and experience working effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.
