Research Program Manager III

Our client, a leading organization in immersive media and research technology, is seeking a Research Program Manager III to join their dynamic team. As a Research Program Manager III, you will be an integral part of the Research and Development department supporting innovative projects in media technology, immersive media research, and content production. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative mindset, enabling success across diverse teams and stakeholders.

Job Title: Research Program Manager III
Location: Remote (PST hours)
Contract Duration: 6 months
Pay Range: $80hr to $85/hr on W2

What's the Job?

• Serve as the primary liaison between research teams and external project stakeholders, ensuring smooth communication and project alignment.
• Organize and manage multi-format media production data, including stereoscopic and volumetric assets, to support research and content initiatives.
• Design and implement sustainable data storage and access workflows that balance budget, policy, and redundancy considerations.
• Collaborate with legal, policy, operations, and production teams to establish and maintain data access controls and workflows.
• Build and nurture relationships with external organizations, open content initiatives, and standards bodies to foster partnerships and knowledge sharing.

What's Needed?

• Proven experience leading cross-functional programs within research, production, legal, and policy environments.
• Strong strategic communication skills to influence both technical and creative audiences effectively.
• Knowledge of data governance concepts, tiered access, and collaboration with operations and legal teams on data management.
• Familiarity with immersive media formats such as stereoscopic and volumetric media, including their production pipelines.
• Understanding of research publication cycles, external release processes, and engagement with academic or standards communities.
