Chemist I

Our client, the diagnostics industry, is seeking a Chemist I to join their team. As a Chemist I, you will be part of the Manufacturing Department supporting the production of immunology-based chromatography and enzyme tests. The ideal candidate will have attention to detail, teamwork skills, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Chemist I

Location:Scarborough, ME

Pay Range:$45 to 50/ hr 

What's the Job?

• Maintain and support the production schedule
• Investigate problem areas and identify areas for improvement
• Undertake new procedures while observing proper safety precautions
• Conduct in-process QC testing of manufacturing materials related to qualifications, quality inspections, and titration
• Create and follow protocols aimed at product improvement and manufacturing efficiency

What's Needed?

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Experience with micropipetting and aseptic techniques
• Ability to work in laminar flow hoods and use measurement tools such as pH meters, balances, and graduated cylinders
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to work independently with moderate supervision
• Proficiency in computer applications including spreadsheets, databases, manufacturing, and word processing software
