UX Researcher III

Our client, a leading organization in the field of virtual and augmented reality technology, is seeking a UX Researcher III to join their team. As a UX Researcher III, you will be part of the Research department supporting innovative development projects. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: UX Researcher III
Location: Redmond, WA
Pay Range: $60/hr to $65/hr on W2

What's the Job?

• Embed within the prototyping team to conduct rapid, lightweight qualitative research to inform development of AI glasses user experiences.
• Participate in demos, design reviews, and working sessions to observe and document user reactions, usability signals, and team feedback.
• Design and execute short evaluative sessions, heuristic walkthroughs, and conversational interviews with small participant groups on a quick-turn basis.
• Synthesize scattered qualitative feedback into clear, actionable insights delivered within the same week to support ongoing development.
• Evaluate how users perceive spatially rendered audio, including localization and externalization, translating perceptual reactions into design guidance.

What's Needed?

• MA/MS in Speech and Hearing Sciences, Psychoacoustics, Audiology, Cognitive Psychology, Linguistics, Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Neuroscience, or a related UX field.
• 2+ years of experience conducting applied qualitative research on consumer products, especially using interviews, observational studies, and rapid thematic analysis.
• Proficiency in conducting qualitative interviews, including conversational and semi-structured formats, with a demonstrated ability to elicit rich insights.
• Experience with rapid-cycle research in fast-paced environments where deliverables are needed within days.
• Strong interpretive judgment skills to form qualitative insights from limited observations and frame findings to advance team goals.
