Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join a cross-functional engineering team responsible for developing and supporting custom automated test systems for complex, large-scale engineering programs. This role will focus on designing, developing, deploying, and sustaining software solutions used in sophisticated test and measurement environments.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with LabVIEW and TestStand, a background in automated test system development, and the ability to work closely with software, systems, and electrical engineering teams throughout the full project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop automated test applications, instrument drivers, and test sequences using LabVIEW and TestStand
  • Build and support software solutions for test systems utilizing a variety of commercial test and measurement equipment
  • Partner with Systems Architects and Electrical Engineers to ensure testability and optimal system implementation
  • Define, document, execute, and validate system test plans and acceptance criteria
  • Verify software functionality and test coverage against requirements
  • Support deployment activities and provide technical handoff documentation to engineering and customer teams
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external partners, and suppliers throughout project execution
  • Participate in design reviews, milestone reviews, and system readiness assessments
  • Provide ongoing support and sustainment for deployed test solutions
  • Travel domestically and internationally as required to support project objectives

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizen with the ability to work on ITAR-regulated projects and qualify for DoD clearances
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of experience developing automated test software using LabVIEW and TestStand
  • Experience working with PXI-based test systems and integrating test equipment such as:
    • Oscilloscopes
    • Digital Multimeters (DMMs)
    • Analog and Digital I/O devices
    • Data Acquisition (DAQ) systems
    • Power supplies
    • RF analyzers
    • RF power sensors
    • Switching and signal routing systems
  • Experience with communication interfaces and protocols including:
    • GPIB
    • USB
    • Ethernet
    • Serial communications
  • Understanding of software development using one or more of the following:
    • LabVIEW
    • TestStand
    • C/C++
    • C#
    • Python
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and within collaborative engineering teams
  • Proven ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of electrical engineering concepts, electronics, and computer architectures
  • Experience interpreting and developing electrical schematics
  • Cross-platform development experience in Windows and Linux environments
  • National Instruments LabVIEW Certification
  • Additional experience with Python, C#, or other modern programming languages
  • Customer-facing technical support or consulting experience
