Workday-Certified Time Tracking and Absence Consultant

Our client, a public sector organization dedicated to serving the community, is seeking a Workday-Certified Time Tracking and Absence Consultant to join their team. As a Workday-Certified Time Tracking and Absence Consultant, you will be part of the Human Resources and Payroll Support team. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Workday-Certified Time Tracking and Absence Consultant

Location: Remote ( Can work from anywhere in USA)

What's the Job?

• Lead the configuration, testing, and maintenance of Workday Time Tracking and Absence Management modules tailored to public sector requirements.
• Translate complex policies, MOUs, and bargaining agreements into precise Workday system logic to ensure compliance and efficiency.
• Collaborate with payroll and integration teams to align Workday outputs with California SCO procedures, timelines, and reporting standards.
• Design and support leave types such as FMLA, CFRA, and military leave, ensuring adherence to California public sector guidelines.
• Lead testing cycles, support quarterly updates, and troubleshoot complex timecard and absence discrepancies to maintain data integrity and system performance.

What's Needed?

• Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience configuring Workday Time Tracking and Absence Management modules.
• Workday Certification in Time Tracking and/or Absence Management.
• Proven experience working in complex environments with multiple union agreements and shift patterns.
• Prior experience supporting California state agencies, counties, or higher education institutions is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of CalHR policies, SCO payroll processes, and federal/state labor regulations.
