Our client, a leading organization in the financial services industry, is seeking a detail-oriented Middle Office Operations Specialist to support daily production activities within the Middle Office Risk & Control team. This role focuses on reconciliations, issue identification, operational risk monitoring, and process improvement efforts. The ideal candidate will have experience in financial operations, middle-office operations, or other production-based operational environments where accuracy, timeliness, and risk awareness are critical. This position offers the opportunity to work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners while contributing to process efficiency and operational excellence.
Job Title: Middle Office Operations Specialist
Location: Baltimore, MD (Hybrid)
Pay Range: $35/hr - $40/hr
What's the Job?
- Perform and review daily reconciliations to ensure operational accuracy.
- Investigate discrepancies, exceptions, and operational issues while escalating concerns appropriately.
- Support day-to-day production activities within the Middle Office environment.
- Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
- Assist in automation efforts, including Excel macro development and process enhancements.
- Monitor operational workflows to ensure adherence to controls and established procedures.
- Communicate operational risks and issues to stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Partner with internal teams and external vendors to support daily production activities and business objectives.
What's Needed?
- Experience within Financial Services Operations, Middle Office, Securities Operations, or related environments.
- Experience performing reconciliations and investigating discrepancies within a production-focused operations environment.
- Strong understanding of operational risk, controls, and issue escalation procedures.
- Ability to identify, investigate, and escalate operational issues to mitigate risk and support timely resolution.
- Proficiency in Excel with ability to support analysis, reporting, and process improvement initiatives.
- Self-starter with excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Collaborative team-player who is also successful working independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent attention to detail with ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Experience leveraging Excel for automation and workflow efficiencies is a plus; Macros/VBA experience preferred.
