Instrument Technician I

Our client, a leader in the medical device manufacturing industry, is seeking an Instrument Technician I to join their team. As an Instrument Technician I, you will be part of the Manufacturing Support Department supporting the Technical Operations team. The ideal candidate will have attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Instrument Technician I

Location: South Portland, ME

Pay Range: $30- 32/ hr on w2

What's the Job?

• Perform basic troubleshooting, repairs, and final acceptance testing on medical devices, including cleaning, decontaminating, disassembly, and final assembly.
• Diagnose problems by accurately gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data, independently or with the aid of job aids.
• Demonstrate financial responsibility by independently approving repairs up to a value of $2,000 and making cost-effective decisions to ensure efficient maintenance.
• Analyze calibration and service data to verify the functionality of medical devices.
• Complete test records and work orders with accuracy and timeliness, supporting quality and compliance standards.

What's Needed?

• 2-year degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 2 years of diverse experience in high-volume production settings adhering to ISO and FDA regulations.
• Experience operating within organizations following ISO, FDA, or comparable quality systems and regulations.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, and optical diagrams and technical specifications.
• Hands-on electromechanical repair, rebuild, and field service experience, especially with instrumentation in the medical field.
