Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Technology Resilience Specialist to support the design, governance, and validation of enterprise-wide technology resilience across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments for a leading organization in Charlotte, NC.

This role serves as a subject matter expert across Disaster Recovery (DR), cyber recovery, backup/restoration, and workload recovery testing. You will partner with cross-functional infrastructure, cloud, application, and cybersecurity teams to evaluate resilience designs, coordinate recovery exercises, identify vulnerability gaps, and strengthen operational recovery postures in accordance with strict regulatory expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Governance & Readiness: Support the execution of the Technology Resilience Program across hybrid environments, ensuring alignment with Business Continuity Management (BCM) policies, recovery tiers, and regulatory expectations.

  • Recovery Architecture & Strategy: Evaluate and challenge recovery designs for new and existing applications hosted in AWS, Azure, and traditional data centers; define backup strategies, recovery groups, and failover/failback mechanisms.

  • Resilience & DR Testing: Coordinate and execute end-to-end recovery testing activities (application recovery, backup/restore validations, cloud failover, and cyber recovery simulations); log test results and track remediation plans to resolution.

  • Cloud Resilience: Support cloud resilience governance across Azure and AWS platforms, assisting application teams with dependency mapping, backup validation, and native cloud recovery planning.

  • Cyber Recovery & Infrastructure Protection: Assess recovery readiness for critical core services (Active Directory, Entra ID, databases, backup platforms) and participate in tabletop cyber recovery exercises.

  • Audit & Risk Compliance: Maintain comprehensive testing evidence and documentation to support internal audits, risk assessments, and regulatory examinations.

Position Requirements

  • Experience: 5–10 years of experience in Technology Resilience, Disaster Recovery, Infrastructure Operations, Cloud Operations, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).

  • DR Concepts & Capabilities: Deep knowledge of core resilience fundamentals including RTO/RPO, backup/recovery, failover/failback, business continuity, and cyber recovery frameworks.

  • Technical Breadth: Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) as well as enterprise data center technology (VMware, Windows Server, Linux, storage, networking).

  • Communication & Collaboration: Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills to bridge technical execution with non-technical business leaders.

  • Onsite Commitment: Ability to work hybrid onsite 2–3 days per week at the Charlotte, NC office location.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with enterprise backup platforms (e.g., Rubrik, Cohesity, Commvault).

  • Background supporting financial services or highly regulated corporate environments.

  • Exposure to regulatory frameworks and standards such as FFIEC, OCC, NYDFS, NIST, or DORA.
