Our client is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join their team. As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you will be part of the software development department supporting innovative bioinformatics and data analysis solutions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Senior Backend Software Engineer

Location: Mississauga, ON - Hybrid

What's the Job?

• Architect, implement, and rigorously test backend APIs, software features, and product infrastructure.
• Leverage serverless computing, distributed platforms, and cloud technologies to build robust solutions.
• Utilize AI tools and Large Language Models (LLMs) to accelerate the design, implementation, and optimization of software architecture and code.
• Write clean, maintainable code, comprehensive documentation, and robust automated tests.
• Research new tools, testing processes, and technologies to continuously improve our development lifecycle.

What's Needed?

• 6+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent field.
• Highly proficient in Java, Spring Boot, and building REST APIs for software products.
• Experience with microservices architecture and development including associated tools.
• Familiarity with relational databases like PostgresSQL and MySQL.
