Systems Design Engineer

Our client, a leading organization in data center and hardware systems, is seeking a Systems Engineer to join their team. As a Systems Engineer, you will be part of the Data Center Platform Engineering Group supporting complex system troubleshooting and hardware management. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and a proactive approach to technical challenges, which will align successfully in the organization.

Systems Design Engineer - Title
Location:  Santa Clara CA  - onsite
Duration: 12+ months with highly possible extension / conversion
Shift: 1st shift (8 AM–5 PM PST), with some travel/on-call flexibility.
Pay Range: $67 - $70 / hr. on W2

What's the Job?

• Work through a ticketing system to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues in data center environments
• Debug platforms and systems, ensuring priority issues are addressed promptly
• Communicate clearly within tickets to explain the current status of issues and systems
• Monitor data center operations for issues such as power outages, network disruptions, and cooling leaks
• Physically install, replace, and debug hardware components, especially related to GPUs and CPUs

What's Needed?

• Experience working in data center environments with complex systems involving CPUs and GPUs
• Proficiency in debugging hardware and software issues, including BIOS, firmware, and OS troubleshooting
• Knowledge of Linux systems, scripting, and log analysis
• Ability to work on-site in Santa Clara, CA, with flexibility for travel between labs and facilities
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with vendors, OEMs, and internal teams
