System Development Engineer

Our client, a leading organization in cloud infrastructure and technology, is seeking a System Development Engineer to join their team. As a System Development Engineer, you will be part of the Infrastructure Optimization Department supporting the Cloud Operations Team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, proactive problem-solving, and excellent communication abilities, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: System Development Engineer - DRAM Memory Optimization - EKS Cluster Management & Memory Profiling

Location: Seattle, WA

Pay Range:$70-75/hr on w2

What's the Job?

• Manage end-to-end operations of Amazon's EKS clusters, including provisioning, configuration, and ongoing maintenance.
• Perform deep memory profiling of containerized workloads to identify and eliminate memory waste across Kubernetes infrastructure.
• Implement and validate memory optimization strategies such as resource right-sizing, autoscaler tuning, and scheduling policies.
• Analyze distributed systems to understand memory allocation, overhead, and consumption, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to review architectures, propose optimization plans, and communicate findings effectively to technical stakeholders.

What's Needed?

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5-7+ years of hands-on experience managing and optimizing EKS/Kubernetes clusters in large-scale production environments.
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes resource management, autoscaling, and memory-aware scheduling.
• Experience with memory profiling tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, kubectl top, and cAdvisor.
• Proficiency in resource right-sizing, container runtime memory overhead, and Linux cgroup memory management.
