Senior Software Engineer (Messaging & Streaming Platform Engineer)

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer (Messaging & Streaming Platform Engineer) . This position is responsible for the engineering, administration, support, and optimization of enterprise messaging and streaming platforms, with a strong focus on Apache Kafka and RabbitMQ.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing large-scale distributed systems, middleware platforms, automation, monitoring, and production support while leveraging modern AI-powered engineering tools to drive operational excellence and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead small to moderate budget projects and provide technical leadership when required.
• Plan, track, and manage project schedules, deliverables, costs, and documentation.
• Support and administer enterprise-scale Kafka and RabbitMQ environments.
• Configure, troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain messaging and streaming platforms to ensure high availability and performance.
• Perform capacity planning, platform tuning, and operational support activities.
• Develop and maintain automation solutions using Python, Shell scripting, and configuration management tools.
• Create, execute, and maintain test plans and test scripts with consideration for end-to-end system workflows.
• Analyze application and platform issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor platform health using observability and logging tools.
• Log defects, communicate findings, and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve issues.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and team members.
• Leverage AI-powered development and engineering tools to enhance productivity, troubleshooting, and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• 6 to 12 years of experience in middleware messaging, application platform management, and distributed systems architecture.
• Strong hands-on experience managing and supporting:
  • Apache Kafka
  • RabbitMQ
• Proven expertise in administering large-scale enterprise distributed messaging environments.
• Deep knowledge of Kafka and RabbitMQ configuration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and optimization.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as:
  • Grafana
  • Prometheus
  • Splunk
  • Dynatrace
• Strong scripting and automation experience using:
  • Python
  • Shell Scripting
  • Ansible or similar configuration management tools
• Experience supporting production environments and resolving complex technical issues.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience applying Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions to infrastructure operations, platform engineering, or software development workflows.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted observability, incident management, operational analytics, and intelligent automation platforms.
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Kubernetes
  • Docker Containers
• Exposure to additional messaging and streaming technologies, including:
  • IBM MQ
  • ActiveMQ
  • Apache Flink
• Experience with cloud-native architectures and DevOps practices
