Our client, a leading organization in the technology and data solutions sector, is seeking a Hadoop Engineer (Chicago or Charlotte) to join their dynamic team. As a Hadoop Engineer (Chicago or Charlotte), you will be part of the Data Platforms Support Team, contributing to innovative projects and supporting critical data infrastructure. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully within the organization.

Job Title: Hadoop Engineer (Chicago or Charlotte)

Location: Chicago, IL / Charlotte, NC

What's the Job?

• Support and manage Big Data platforms built around Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and related technologies.
• Perform cluster management, upgrades, bug fixes, and deployment activities to ensure platform stability and performance.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize query performance and resource utilization.
• Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and implement disaster recovery plans.
• Engage with clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams to deliver technical solutions aligned with business needs.

What's Needed?

• Experience working with Big Data Technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and Impala.
• Certifications in Cloudera Admin/Dev and Cloud, Docker-Container, or OpenShift Technologies.
• Hands-on experience with cluster management, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Strong knowledge of Hadoop architecture, HDFS, and related components.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Shell, and familiarity with SQL and relational databases.
