Hadoop Production Support Engineer

Our client, a leading organization in the financial services industry, is seeking an Application Programmer III to join their team. As an Application Programmer III, you will be part of the Production Support department supporting offshore support teams. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, initiative, and the ability to work independently, which will align successfully in the organization.

What's the Job?

• Provide production support in a high-volume environment, troubleshooting issues independently and efficiently.
• Utilize solid Unix skills, including Bash scripting, to automate and optimize workflows.
• Apply strong SQL skills to analyze and resolve data-related issues, ensuring data integrity and quality.
• Support Hadoop environments, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, and optimization, with exposure to Spark development.
• Identify opportunities for process automation and system improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

What's Needed?

• Proficiency in Unix/Linux environments with Bash scripting experience.
• Solid SQL language skills for data analysis and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with Hadoop, including production support and troubleshooting.
• Exposure to Spark development, optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Strong data and code analysis skills, with a focus on data quality and root cause analysis.
• Decent Java and Python skills are considered a bonus.
• Experience with automated testing tools such as Cucumber is a plus.
