Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement technology solutions that ensure the seamless integration of applications, data, and interfaces.
- Work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution.
- Design, develop, and enhance client-facing and internal applications, contribute to application architecture and technology solutions, and deliver technology tools that support NYS strategic initiatives.
- Apply enterprise architecture standards and design principles to develop scalable applications that align with NYS business and technical requirements.
- Use multiple sources of information including broader stakeholder views to develop solutions and recommendations.
- Provide application support throughout the application lifecycle by resolving defects and implementing enhancements.
- Participate in post-implementation incident resolution, as required.
- Translation of the business requirement and use cases to develop enterprise applications and unit testing of same.
- Work with the technical leads and architects to transform the high- and low-level system design into technical components.
- Develop applications based on technical requirements, design & architecture principles & standards.
- Build reusable code and libraries for platform & shared services.
- Produce work products and applications that reflect and ensure system design and delivery are in line with business needs and project plan.
- Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.

Mandatory Qualifications:
- More than seven (7) years of experience working on complex projects with 2 or more years in a leadership role as a System Integration Engineer.
- More than seven years of experience in software development of enterprise-level applications using JEE, JMS, WebServices and ORM such as JPA/Hibernate, with a minimum of two years supporting an Integrated Eligibility System (IES) program within a Health and Human Services environment.
- More than five years of experience in developing applications using Spring API and frameworks including but not limited to Spring MVC, Spring Batch, Spring Boot and Spring REST.
- Seven or more years of experience implementing automated unit testing frameworks and developing applications using complex SQL queries against Oracle or MS SQL Server databases.
- Five or more years of experience developing Microservices-based applications and using CI/CD, source control, and build tools (i.e., Git, Jenkins, Maven, Artifactory/Nexus).
- Three or more years of experience developing web applications using JSON/Angular.JS and MongoDB, with working knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, Google Cloud), enterprise security (Okta, SSO, Active Directory), distributed technologies (Kafka, MuleSoft, Redis) and container platforms such as Red Hat OpenShift.
