Data Engineer

Our client is seeking a Data Engineer to join their team. As a Data Engineer, you will be part of the Data Strategy team supporting SMBC Capital Markets and Nikko Securities Group. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

What's the Job?

• Design and develop a strategic data platform supporting financial data management and analytics
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish reference data systems for securities and pricing data
• Implement solutions on SMBC's Azure Cloud Platform utilizing various Azure services
• Contribute to the development of APIs and data pipelines to ensure seamless data flow and integration
• Follow internal standards and best practices for data engineering and cloud solutions

What's Needed?

• Extensive experience as a Data Engineer with proficiency in Azure cloud services
• Strong skills in full stack Python/PySpark development
• Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Lake Gen 2, Azure Databricks, and related Azure services
• Proficiency in SQL and developing APIs using frameworks like FastAPI in Python
• Understanding of DevOps lifecycle, CI/CD processes, and ETL/ELT workflows
