Our client, a leading organization in the manufacturing and research sector, is seeking a EHS Specialist to join their team. As a EHS Specialist, you will be part of the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) department supporting the R&D community. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to safety and environmental compliance, which will align successfully in the organization.

Location: Maplewood, Minnesota
Contract: 12 months to start
Pay Range:$23-25
What's the Job?
- Serve as the EHS contact for assigned divisions within the R&D community
- Apply established EHS processes consistently and appropriately across various projects.
- Facilitate discussions with researchers to identify risks and implement controls.
- Complete chemical exposure assessments and PPE assessments to ensure safety standards are met.
- Lead EHS inspections, support risk assessments, and assist with hazard screenings and corrective actions.
What's Needed?
- Bachelors Degree in related field
- 2-4 years of working knowledge of environmental, health, and safety principles in laboratory, R&D, technical, or manufacturing environments.
- Ability to apply established EHS processes, tools, and procedures consistently while recognizing when escalation or additional review is needed.
- Basic knowledge of lab safety practices, PPE selection, and hazardous waste management.
- Experience conducting or supporting risk assessments, hazard screenings, inspections, and follow-up actions.
- Strong communication and organizational skills to manage multiple activities and maintain documentation.
