Lead Mainframe Operations Engineer

Our client, a leading organization in the financial services industry, is seeking a Lead Mainframe Operations Engineer to join their team. As a Lead Mainframe Operations Engineer, you will be part of the Infrastructure Support team supporting critical data processing operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to maintaining high service levels, which will align successfully in the organization.

Location:Allen, TX

Pay Range:  $34/hr on w2

What's the Job?

• Participate in planning, development, and implementation of infrastructure solutions involving cross-functional technical experts.
• Serve as a technology domain SME, communicating solutions effectively across technical, managerial, and vendor audiences.
• Lead resolution processes for complex problems, analyzing situations and data to evaluate various factors.
• Establish input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and subsystem integration.
• Support multiple projects and initiatives related to operations and special initiatives within the organization.

What's Needed?

• Minimum of 5 years of console operations experience in a large-scale multi-platform data center.
• Expert knowledge of mainframe environments, including JES3/JES2, MVS commands, and console operations.
• Strong understanding of CICS control and mainframe tools such as MAINVIEW, Omegamon, Tivoli, and others.
• Experience with ticketing tools like BMC Remedy and familiarity with VTAM/SNA, IPL, and POR procedures.
• College degree or equivalent experience/certification in Computer Arts/Science with a focus on mainframe technologies; ITIL certifications and ITSM knowledge are a plus.
