Our client, a leader in financial services, is seeking an Sr. Mainframe Assembler Developer to join their team. As a Senior Mainframe Assembler Developer, you will be part of the Mainframe Support team supporting mission-critical legacy applications. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, independence, and a proactive approach, which will align successfully in the organization.

Location: Charlotte, NC/ Addison, TX (Hybrid: 3 days onsite in office)
Position type: 12+ months contract with high possibility of extension/Conversion

What's the Job?
- Support and enhance high-volume, high-availability mainframe applications written in IBM z/OS assembler language.
- Analyze complex assembler codebases to diagnose and resolve critical production issues efficiently.
- Maintain and troubleshoot JCL, GDGs, and batch processing environments to ensure smooth operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system upgrades, platform changes, and process improvements.
- Support check/image item processing and payment platforms within a regulated financial environment.
What's Needed?
- 8+ years of experience in IBM Mainframe application development and production support.
- Deep expertise in Assembler (HLASM) programming, JCL development, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with Connect:Direct (NDM), ISPW, CA7 scheduling, and TSO/ISPF environment.
- Proven ability to support high-volume financial transaction systems in high-availability environments.
- Strong understanding of mainframe datasets, VSAM, and utilities, along with incident management processes.
