Principal Azure APIM Platform Engineer

Our client is seeking a Platform Engineer to join their team. As a Platform Engineer, you will be part of the Platform Engineering supporting API Management, AI Gateway, and Cloud Infrastructure teams. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and a proactive mindset which will align successfully in the organization.

Location: Warren, NJ - Remote

What's the Job?

• Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of next-generation API and AI platforms leveraging Azure API Management and Azure AI Gateway capabilities.
• Define and establish target-state architectures for internal and external API management, AI gateway, disaster recovery, and security controls.
• Drive technical decisions related to traffic segregation, security policies, and operational models to ensure platform resilience and security.
• Implement infrastructure automation using Terraform and establish CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps for seamless deployment and management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to migrate, modernize, and optimize API and AI services, ensuring best practices and operational excellence.

What's Needed?

• Deep expertise in Azure cloud services, especially Azure API Management and Azure AI Gateway.
• Proficiency in infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform and experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of platform security, API security policies, and security best practices.
• Experience with observability tools like Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
• Excellent collaboration skills and ability to lead complex technical projects in a fast-paced environment.
