Sr Compensation Accountant

Our client, a leading organization in the technology sector, is seeking a Sr Compensation Accountant to join their team. As a Sr Compensation Accountant, you will be part of the Accounting – Compensation Accounting department supporting cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Sr Compensation Accountant
Location: Remote (US-based)
Pay Range: $42-$45/hr
Duration: 6 months (potential to extend)

What's the Job?

  • Support the Compensation Accounting function, owning key close and reporting processes.
  • Partner closely with Finance, HR, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations related to compensation and other assigned areas.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, including accruals, reclasses, and complex adjustments.
  • Assist with SOX compliance, internal controls, and audit support activities.

What's Needed?

  • 5–8+ years of progressive ledger accounting experience, including month-end close activities.
  • Strong experience with general ledger, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems such as Workday, Oracle, SAP, or NetSuite.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large data sets and complex models.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain accounting concepts clearly to non-finance partners.
