Java/DevOps Engineer

Position Summary

We are seeking a Java DevOps Engineer II to join a fast-paced engineering team focused on building, deploying, and supporting scalable enterprise applications. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong DevOps mindset and background, coupled with hands-on experience developing Java-based applications.

The ideal candidate will bring expertise in CI/CD pipeline development, deployment automation, cloud-native engineering practices, and Java application development. This individual will play a key role in improving software delivery processes, automating deployments, and partnering with development teams to build reliable, scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline software delivery and deployment processes.
• Develop and support enterprise applications and APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
• Automate application deployments, infrastructure provisioning, and operational processes.
• Collaborate with software engineers, architects, and product teams to improve development and release efficiency.
• Implement and maintain GitHub Actions workflows and deployment automation solutions.
• Support and enhance modern DevOps practices, including continuous integration, continuous delivery, monitoring, and release management.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Troubleshoot production issues and identify opportunities for automation and operational improvements.
• Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions.
• Promote engineering best practices related to automation, scalability, reliability, and security.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering and/or DevOps experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java development.
• Experience building applications using Spring Boot.
• Experience developing and supporting RESTful APIs.
• Experience with React and modern web application development.
• Proven experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong experience with GitHub Actions and deployment automation.
• Knowledge of source control management and branching strategies using Git.
• Experience working within Agile software development environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as:
  • Terraform
  • Ansible
  • Other infrastructure automation platforms
• Experience supporting cloud-based environments.
• Experience with containerization technologies and automated deployment strategies.
• Understanding of microservices architecture and modern application delivery practices.
• Experience working in highly regulated or enterprise-scale environments.
