Hardware Design Engineer

Our client is seeking a dedicated Hardware Design Engineer to join their innovative team. As a Hardware Design Engineer, you will be part of the Silicon One optics development organization supporting the Design-for-Test (DFT) initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and excellent communication abilities, which will align successfully within the organization.

Location:Carlsbad, CA or Allentown, PA or US Remote (must be available to work California hours, 9-5 PST)

What's the Job?

• Implement and develop Hardware Design-for-Test (DFT) features such as scan, mbist, BISR, and boundary scan.
• Support the setup, debugging, and validation of DFT simulations and post-silicon testing/debugging processes.
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams to develop innovative DFT IP and integrate testability features into full chip designs.
• Participate in creating hardware DFT and physical design strategies for new silicon devices, including bare die and stacked die configurations.
• Lead debugging efforts and root cause analysis of silicon failures to enhance yield and reliability across the product lifecycle.

What's Needed?

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 8-10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Jtag protocols, Scan, BIST architectures, including memory BIST, boundary scan, and integration of third-party IPs.
• Proficiency with ATPG and EDA tools such as Tessent, Xcelium, Genus, and Tempus/Primetime.
• Hands-on experience with post-silicon debug of DFT patterns and release to production.
• Ability to work independently, craft solutions, and debug with minimal mentorship.
