Custom Compliance Analyst

Our client, a leading organization in international trade and compliance, is seeking a Custom Compliance Analyst to join their team. As a Custom Compliance Analyst, you will be part of the Trade Operations Department supporting the Customs Compliance team. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a proactive mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Custom Compliance Analyst

Location: Newark, NJ -

Pay Range: $30-37/hr 

Must Have:

Experience in Customs Compliance
Customs import entries
SAP/ Ariba experience.
Import and Export experience
Experience in US HTS classification, ISF filing, Section 232 tariffs, or OGA/PGA requirements (FDA, etc.), as well as Schedule B, ECCN, Canadian HTS classification.

What's the Job?

  • Support the day-to-day operations of the company's US and Canadian import/export compliance programs.
  • Accurately enter and reconcile data across brokerage, carrier, and government portals such as FedEx, UPS, ACE, and CARM.
  • Maintain classification and recordkeeping systems, ensuring compliance with customs regulations.
  • Analyze entry packets, validate shipment details, and update relevant spreadsheets and databases.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures and support compliance gap analysis.

What's Needed?

  • Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail in high-volume data entry tasks.
  • Strong reading comprehension skills for extracting data from emails, reports, and portals.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple workstreams with deadlines.
  • Solid analytical skills to identify discrepancies and exceptions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with office software; SAP experience is a plus.
