Principal Software Engineer – DevSecOps & Platform Engineering (TX)

Our client, a leading organization in the financial services industry, is seeking an Engineer 5 - Contingent to join their team. As an Engineer 5 - Contingent, you will be part of the Chief Data Office supporting cross-platform engineering and reference architecture teams. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent collaboration abilities, and a proactive mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Location:Irving, TX

What's the Job?

• Design, build, and improve reusable CI/CD workflow components (GitHub Actions) and deployment patterns (Harness CD to OpenShift)
• Implement and maintain reference implementations for web services, APIs, data pipelines, and enterprise integration patterns
• Develop automation libraries, templates, and onboarding guidance to enable rapid adoption of release management practices
• Integrate security and quality scanning tools into CI workflows, ensuring compliance and audit readiness
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously enhance release cargo packaging, traceability, and automation processes

What's Needed?

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with proficiency in Python and leading complex initiatives
• Extensive experience building web applications and APIs using frameworks such as Django, FastAPI, or Flask
• 8+ years designing and implementing CI/CD automation and DevOps practices, including GitHub Actions
• Hands-on experience with cloud-native platforms and container orchestration (OpenShift/Kubernetes)
• Proven ability to collaborate across engineering, security, platform, and governance stakeholders
