Backend Engineer (Java)

Our client, a leading organization in the financial services industry, is seeking a Backend Engineer (Java) to join their team. As a Backend Engineer (Java), you will be part of the Software Development Department supporting the Web Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Backend Engineer (Java)

Location: New York, New York

Pay Range: 70-72/hr

What's the Job?

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java to support web applications used by millions of customers worldwide.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend developers, product managers, and backend engineers to deliver high-quality features.
• Implement REST APIs and ensure their performance, security, and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes to uphold best practices and standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to ensure seamless user experiences.

What's Needed?

• 4-8 years of experience in software development, particularly with Java in a professional setting.
• Proficiency in developing REST APIs and working with distributed systems.
• Experience with modern development tools and frameworks such as Jenkins, Docker, and GitHub Actions.
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies and best practices.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
