Our client is seeking a Digital Accessibility Specialist to join their team. As a Digital Accessibility Specialist, you will be part of the Digital Services Department supporting the Accessibility and Compliance Team. The ideal candidate will have a proactive attitude, strong communication skills, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive digital environment, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Digital Accessibility Specialist 

Location: Madison, WI (Hybrid)

Pay Range: $29 - $31 / hr. W2

What's the Job?

  • Identify and remediate digital accessibility issues across various digital content including websites, applications, PDFs, and online forms.
  • Test digital content for compliance with ADA Title II, Section 508, and WCAG 2.1 AA standards using tools like WAVE, Lighthouse, NVDA, and Acrobat Pro.
  • Support staff by providing guidance and technical assistance on accessibility best practices.
  • Develop workflows, documentation, and training materials to promote long-term accessibility compliance.
  • Collaborate across technical and organizational teams to ensure accessibility standards are met and maintained.

What's Needed?

  • Hands-on experience with ADA accessibility testing for websites, applications, PDFs, and documents.
  • Proficiency with accessibility testing tools such as WAVE, Lighthouse, NVDA, and Acrobat Pro.
  • Knowledge of ADA Title II, Section 508, and WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
  • Strong sense of ownership and ability to work independently with urgency.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills across diverse teams.
