  Job Title: Automation Engineer

  Job Description:

Summary:
Client's Finance Innovation Hub is looking for Forward Deployed Automation Developers who will sit at the intersection of AI engineering and Finance transformation. We operate in a space where automation meets governance, where AI-driven workflows handle real money, real controls, and real compliance obligations. The work is practical, consequential, and directly tied to how one of the world's largest finance organizations runs.

Think of this role as being an embedded AI builder inside Finance: you work shoulder-to- shoulder with Finance teams, take full ownership of automation projects from initial scoping through go-live, compress the cycle time between identifying a need and putting a working solution in production, and collaborate hands-on with the Finance teams who rely on your work every day. Success here isn't measured by proofs-of-concept. It's measured by systems that are adopted, trusted, auditable, and running in daily operations, especially when it matters most during month-end and quarter-end close.

What You'll Do
In this role, you are embedded with Finance stakeholders and hold end-to-end accountability for the strategy and delivery of AI-enabled workflows. Day to day, you will build production automation, take it live, and solve real operational problems across Finance functions including Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Audit, and Procurement.

Specifically, you will:
● Own end-to-end delivery: design, build, test, iterate, and deploy AI-enabled solutions from first conversation to production release ● Translate business needs into technical solutions: understand Finance requirements deeply, guide stakeholders on solution design, and architect implementations grounded in Client's technology stack ● Embed governance from day one: implement guardrails, fallback behaviors, human- in-the-loop logic, and documentation that satisfies enterprise control and audit requirements ● Build stable data foundations: identify and integrate relevant datasets into extensible pipelines that power reliable automation ● Collaborate across disciplines: partner with internal architects on design decisions, debug issues directly with stakeholders, and bring field learnings back to improve the Hub's platforms and practices ● Document with intent: record technical decisions, assumptions, and dependencies so that every solution is auditable, maintainable, and transferable ● Participate in oncall rotation for close cycles: work as part of our oncall team to support month-end and quarter-end activities as needed, which may include after-hours and weekend coverage according to a pre-set plan, ensuring critical Finance workflows run without disruption

What You'll Bring
We care about what you've built, not where you studied. Your experience should demonstrate a track record of shipping production systems that solve real problems. Your resume should tell the story of things you've taken from zero to production: workflows automated, systems scaled, tools adopted. We care about impact and technical quality, not pedigree or brand names.

Technical Foundation
● Strong software engineering skills in Python, SQL, and API development ● Hands-on experience with AI/ML models, LLMs, or intelligent automation frameworks ● Comfort with modern AI development tools including agentic frameworks, AI workflow builders, and "vibe-coding" environments (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, n8n, or similar) ● Working knowledge of data pipelines and integration patterns that move data reliably between systems ● Understanding of enterprise controls and audit requirements: you know how to build things that pass compliance review, not just demo well

Business & Communication
● Ability to work directly with Finance stakeholders who aren't engineers, translating their pain into your architecture ● Track record of breaking down loosely defined business challenges into structured, repeatable technical solutions ● Strong communication skills: you can explain technical tradeoffs, design choices, and risk in plain language

Operational Readiness
● This role requires participation in the oncall rotation during month-end and quarter- end close periods, including after-hours and weekend support as outlined in a pre-set plan ● Proven ability to operate in time-sensitive environments where production uptime directly impacts Finance reporting deadlines ● A reliability mindset: you build with supportability in mind and take ownership when systems need attention

Preferred (Not Required)
● Prior experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Technical Consultant, or similar embedded-builder role ● Domain experience in Finance, Audit, or regulated industries ● Familiarity with Client's technology stack
