Our client, a massive global life sciences, biotechnology, and laboratory supply company, is seeking a dedicated Senior Accountant to join their team. As a Senior Accountant, you will be an integral part of the Finance Department supporting cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate analytical thinking, collaboration, and a proactive approach, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Hillsboro, OR 97124 (Onsite)
Pay Range: $42-47/hr. on W2
Job Type: 3-4-month contract with the potential for hire or extension
Schedule: M-F 40 hrs./wk.
What's the Job?
- Meticulously analyze production costs, including direct materials, labor, and overheads, to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Monitor inventory levels, track usage, and reconcile discrepancies to ensure accurate valuation and minimize waste or shortages.
- Participate in month-end close activities, preparing journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and assisting in financial reporting.
- Prepare and present comprehensive reports on manufacturing costs, providing insights and recommendations to support informed decision-making by senior management.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements, responding promptly to audit requests with accurate documentation.
What's Needed?
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Previous experience of 5+ years in cost accounting or a similar role.
- Advanced knowledge of financial and cost accounting principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in ERP systems such as QAD or Oracle Hyperion.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and presentation.
