Application Developer – FIS DDA (Remote)

Pay Rate: $55-$70.00/hr W2 Only (No Corp-to-Corp, No 1099)

Duration: 12-Month Contract (with potential for extension)

Location: Fully Remote (Domestic US)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Profile Development for Deposit Applications team. In this role, you will provide critical technical expertise for the maintenance, support, and development of a highly customized, legacy FIS Profile DDA application environment spanning 12 separate international branch instances.

This position sits at the intersection of critical day-to-day operations and future-state transformation. You will act as a key technical anchor, sustaining legacy architecture while actively leading the Assessment and Discovery phases for upcoming large-scale system upgrade initiatives.

Core Responsibilities

  • Development & Enhancements: Design, code, test, and amend legacy Profile v6.2/AMR99 versions and Profile for Windows (PFW) software codes to support complex business requests for enhancements and new functionalities across 12 separate branch instances.

  • Upgrade Assessment & Strategy: Leverage deep systems knowledge to lead the Profile Upgrade assessment efforts on highly customized application codes representing 25 years of proprietary customization. Conduct design workshops across all interconnected applications involved in system updates.

  • Environment Support: Provide end-to-end technical expertise regarding the maintenance and support of all Core banking environments, including Development, QA, Release, and Production.

  • Quality Assurance & Governance: Conduct rigorous code reviews of development work performed by other team members. Review all incoming software fixes or enhancements delivered by the vendor (FIS) to ensure strict adherence to internal coding standards.

  • Testing & Documentation: Thoroughly document all code modifications and execute rigorous unit testing prior to handing software over to business, QA, and Release validation teams.

  • Database & Production Support: Assist with production support workflows, including troubleshooting cross-system data and payment flows. Support ongoing database maintenance, data archiving, and compliance/audit requirements to enhance automated interface controls.

  • Strategic Initiatives: Actively support key banking initiatives, including ACH Back Office, Cash Management System enhancements, Foreign Exchange interfaces, and Electronic Statement implementations.

Job Requirements

  • Years of Experience: 5+ years of software engineering experience, specifically focused on core deposit applications and DDA environments.

  • Core Technical Expertise: Mastery of MUMPS programming language and deep operational knowledge of FIS Profile v6.2 / AMR99.

  • UI Maintenance: Strong proficiency in PowerBuilder to maintain, support, and troubleshoot legacy PFW (Profile for Windows) front-end user interfaces internally.

  • Platform Scripting: Direct experience utilizing PSL (Profile Scripting Language).

  • Tooling Infrastructure: Familiarity with deployment, version control, and operational tools including UrbanCode, Perforce, and ServiceNow.

  • Ecosystem Competency: Proven ability to unpack, analyze, and map out heavily customized, multi-instance codebases with 20+ years of legacy layers.
