Senior Linux Administrator

Our client, a leading organization in enterprise technology solutions, is seeking a Senior Linux Administrator to join their team. As a Senior Linux Administrator, you will be part of the Infrastructure Support team supporting critical enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, excellent collaboration abilities, and a proactive approach to system management, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Senior Linux Administrator

Location: Baltimore, MD

Pay Range: $59-62/hr depending on years of experience 

What's the Job?

• Design, implement, and support enterprise Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) solutions across physical and VMware environments.
• Manage provisioning and lifecycle operations, including LUN/volume allocation, host mapping, masking, and expansion.
• Monitor and optimize Linux system performance, availability, and capacity using modern toolsets like Prometheus and Grafana.
• Support disaster recovery operations, including automated system replication, failover testing, and rapid incident response.
• Lead Linux operating system upgrades, server migrations, and infrastructure modernization initiatives.

What's Needed?

• 7+ years of enterprise Linux administration experience, specifically with RHEL.
• Hands-on experience managing and configuring RHEL workloads within VMware vSphere and cloud environments.
• Strong understanding of Linux networking, multipathing, NFS, autofs, and connecting Linux hosts to SAN/NAS backends.
• Experience with automation tools such as Puppet and Ansible for system configuration management.
• Operational experience working within ITIL frameworks, including change management and incident management processes.
