Our client, a leading organization in the telecommunications and engineering industry, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Lab Technician to join their team. As a Lab Technician, you will be an essential part of the research and development department supporting innovative projects in fiber optic technology. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent teamwork skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, which will enable you to thrive in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Job Title: Lab Technician

Location: Austin, TX

Pay Range: $18 to $23 p/h on w-2
Duration: 12 month contract

What's the Job?

  • Assist with assembly and testing of new fiber optic connectors following detailed work procedures
  • Handle and test fiber optic connectors to evaluate optical performance
  • Work closely with optical engineers and fellow technicians to develop and refine connector samples
  • Maintain a safe laboratory environment, including the use of provided safety glasses
  • Document test results and procedures accurately in laboratory databases and reports

What's Needed?

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Basic laboratory skills and some laboratory experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Excel and database management
  • Technical experience in an engineering or telecommunications laboratory is a plus
  • Experience handling and testing fiber optic connectors is highly desirable
