Product Development Admin III

Our client, a leading innovator in the beauty and cosmetics industry, is seeking a Product Development Admin III to join their dynamic team. As a Product Development Admin III, you will be an integral part of the Product Development department supporting the Lip Category team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent organizational skills, a deep passion for makeup artistry and texture innovation, and a keen eye for color theory and emerging beauty trends, which will enable you to thrive in this creative environment.

Location: El Segundo, CA

What's the Job?

• Assist in drafting comprehensive technical and creative product development briefs for laboratories, detailing performance expectations, benchmark standards, shade direction, and aesthetic criteria.
• Critically assess submission samples from internal and external laboratories, evaluating texture, payoff, wear-time, application, scent, and overall performance.
• Direct labs on shade modifications, undertones, and color matching across diverse skin tones to ensure ultimate inclusivity.
• Keep track of all formula iterations, maintaining organized feedback logs and managing standard-setting controls for approved formulas.
• Organize internal testing panels to gather peer feedback on formula comfort, texture preference, and ease of application.

What's Needed?

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Cosmetology, Marketing, Business, or a related scientific/creative discipline.
• 2 to 4 years of cosmetic product development experience, ideally focusing on color cosmetics, with direct experience in the lip category being a major plus.
• Excellent visual color perception and the ability to articulate sensory texture characteristics such as slip, drag, cushion, and tackiness.
• Deep knowledge of and interest in the beauty industry, pop culture, social media beauty trends (TikTok, Instagram), and professional makeup artistry.
• High comfort level working in a fast-paced, agile environment where timelines are condensed and priorities shift quickly.
