Test Consulting Engineer

Our client, a leading organization in the technology and networking industry, is seeking a Test Consulting Engineer to join their team. As a Test Consulting Engineer, you will be part of the Solution Validation Services (SVS) department supporting complex network validation projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Test Consulting Engineer

Location: Hybrid (RTP, NC or Richardson/Dallas Texas)

Pay Range: $50-$55

What's the Job?

• Engage with customers and stakeholders to plan and execute validation engagements for complex network solutions.
• Support next-generation ACI, Data Center, and Service Provider platforms to accelerate deployment and adoption.
• Validate new design solutions to ensure they meet customer requirements and industry standards.
• Develop test plans, build lab configurations, and document testing results thoroughly.
• Collaborate with engineering and delivery teams to identify issues and facilitate resolutions, ensuring successful project delivery.

What's Needed?

• Deep technical knowledge of Cisco enterprise routing and switching, including Catalyst Center (formerly DNA Center), SDA, Nexus Data Center technologies, and ISE.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Catalyst platforms (9300, 9400, 9500, 9600), including StackWise Virtual, WLCs, and Access Points.
• Strong understanding of Layer 2 / Layer 3 network design and troubleshooting in enterprise and data center environments.
• Familiarity with network security protocols such as 802.1X, MAB, EAP/TLS, AAA, RADIUS, SNMP, and ISE policy management.
• Programming skills in Python and/or Robot Framework for test automation and validation.
